The Crystal Clear Codec patent portfolio is standard-essential for the EVS Standard. The portfolio has twelve patent families that currently contain 185 granted patents,3 German registered utility models, and 15 pending patent applications. The earliest expiration date for patents in the portfolio is in December 2026 , and the latest expiration date for patents in the portfolio is in March 2035. Within the portfolio, there are granted patents in the United States, Europe, China, Japan, Korea, Australia, and Canada, among other countries.

Crystal Clear Codec is licensing its patent portfolio under fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (“FRAND”) terms.

Rates for Handsets and Wireless Devices

The royalty rates provided below are for a codec, which is generally understood to mean the combination of an encoder and decoder. There are not separate rates for encoding functionality (encoder) and decoding functionality (decoder). The same rate applies whether the Licensed Product provides only encoding functionality, only decoding functionality, or both encoding and decoding functionality.
